As a Tamil movie fan, I always look for a new Tamil film to watch. Recently, a long-time favorite of mine was released - Bang Bang. It stars John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan, who plays the role of an assassin and gangster respectively. The film is directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. Bang Bang was widely hyped and received mixed reviews. But I had high expectations, so I went to the theaters only to be disappointed. It was a boring experience, but at the same time it raised questions in my mind - is Roshan a good actor? Is he worthy of being called a leading man? And lastly, is Abraham actually playing a good role? I decided to watch the DVD of Bang Bang and I ended up watching it three times in a row. And I am glad I did. After watching it, I realize that it can be a good film for both John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan. And being a fan of this star combination, I will definitely watch Bang Bang again when there is time to spare. Bang Bang is an action thriller. The overall story revolves around two gangsters, one of which is played by Hrithik Roshan. The story starts off with the character - Hrithik - being humiliated by his boss in front of his girlfriend - Bipasha (Amrita Arora). The boss then beats up Hrithik's girlfriend and pushes him to drugs and later on into the life of crime. There is a twist in the story, when a policeman joins Hrithik's boss to search for an assassin, played by John Abraham. The policeman, played by Himesh Reshammiya, is a good friend of the assassin - John - and his girlfriend - Katrina Kaif. There are three songs in the movie that I really liked because they were really good at that time. They are Chammak Challo (Dj Chetas), Bang Bang (Shankar-Eshaan-Loy) and De De Pyaar De (Pritam). All of them were chartbusters in various media platforms. Kudos to the music directors. I have never liked Katrina Kaif in any of her movies, but I really liked her acting in this one. She looks gorgeous and sings well too. As for Hrithik Roshan, I have always loved his acting skills. He is an extremely talented star and he should be highly appreciated by the movie-going publics alike. Now, let's talk about John Abraham who played his role mostly convincingly throughout the movie. He did a decent job overall, but what I really did not like about him was his overacting in emotional scenes or whenever he is supposed to be emotional or hurt or sad.
